We would like to acknowledge these organizations who have recently contributed in special ways to make our Shelter a better place!

Amazing Corporate Support for the Shelter

SCCAS is a proud member of the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Partners for Pets Program! The Partners for Pets Program is designed to support shelters, rescue groups and spay/neuter organizations that are helping to reduce pet overpopulation across the United States. SCCAS is eligible to apply for grants through the Partners for Pets Program, as well as participate in the Empty the Shelters event.

Pet Smart Charities

In 2020, PetSmart Charities granted the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation $50,000 to supplement the Shelter’s Healthy Pets for All community outreach program. This program hosts free pop-up wellness clinics in underserved areas of the county. These proactive clinics improve the lives of animals and help keep pets with their families by providing services and supplies to pet owners who are struggling financially.

In-Kind Contributions That Make Us Look Better

California Landscape Contractors Association
(Central Coast Chapter)

Instrumental in a dramatic landscape makeover a few years ago, CLCA donated a professional crew this April to give the Santa Cruz Shelter grounds a major spring cleaning all around the main entrance on Rodriguez Street.  Thank you!

Colliers International

Colliers International focused their “top tier” real estate management services on a badly overgrown stretch of 7th Avenue, with a dozen employees sprucing up the frontage at SCCAS’s Education Center, feline spay/neuter clinic, and service entrance.  What a difference!

Ongoing Event Sponsorships Keep on Helping!

Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing

We can’t remember a time when Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing owner Emily Thomas didn’t support the Shelter. Whether it’s donating kegs for fundraisers or opening her taproom and beer garden to our monthly joint Ales for Tails event (her idea, we might add), or adopting her family dog from us, Emily’s continued dedication to the Shelter and its mission has been unwavering. A heartfelt thanks to Emily and the entire SCMB family.

The Jury Room

Tim Hall of The Jury Room came to us in 2010 to pitch the idea of a fundraiser on behalf of the Shelter. The first Benepet was born that year and has faithfully raised thousands of dollars for the Shelter each year since. Tim and The Jury have put on the Benepet events under their own steam, from preparation to donation. As if that weren’t enough, they have been one of our annual St. Pittie’s Day Pit Stop Pub Crawl venues from the very first.
