How You Can Help!
Make a PLANNED PetHood Appointment
Sign-up for surgeries and services is on a first-come, first-served basis and must be done in person at one of our two Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter locations. Sign-up must occur BEFORE the surgery date. All fees must be paid and the check-in and surgery consent forms must be completed at the time of sign-up. Please bring proof of Santa Cruz County residence.
Animals participating in the program must be 8 weeks old and weigh at least 2 pounds. Animals over the age of 7 years are required to receive a blood panel for an additional cost of $55.
The PLANNED PetHood program is accessible to all Santa Cruz County resident pets, regardless of household income.
Before coming to your appointment, please read the Pre-Surgery Instructions.
